The Chromatic Typewriter

typewriter paints keystrokes to art

This is the coolest typewriter I've ever seen!  Using an html color guide, Tyree Callahan rigged the machine so that each key corresponds to a different hue. He modified his 1937 Underwood Standard typewriter to transform simple keystrokes into beautiful works of art. Tyree Callahan grew up in Bisbee, Arizona before moving to Bellingham, Washington, in 1993.  He  is a member of the Waterfront Artist Studio Collective, located on Bellingham's waterfront. You can also find him on facebook on his page Painting and Poetry.
